Our Principles & Philosophy
CONFLICTLESS AWARENESS
Since the Foundation endeavours to promote and protect the human rights of the neglected, marginal groups like women, children, accused persons, prisoners, senior citizens, disabled persons, Dalits etc.; it believes in maintaining balance and cooperation between deprived groups and groups providing such rights. Its emphasis is on “CONFLICTLESS AWARENESS” of both the Victims of deprivations/Violation of human rights on, the one hand; and those who are protectors and administrators of such rights, on the other hand. The Foundation is motivated by the above principle and attempts to impart elementary information about laws in simple language that may be understood by such groups.
primary legal education in mother tongue
In order to achieve above level of elementary legal education, it is learnt by practice that such elementary legal literature must be in mother tongue of a citizen and thus the principle of “primary legal education in mother tongue” is accepted and practiced by the foundation, pursuant to which booklets are published on various law subjects in simple language avoiding the legal technicalities and scholarly exposition. They are meant for the common man for his day-to-day life. Law gets simplified only when it is expressed through a media of mother tongue for lower strata of the society. The lucidity of law is also accomplished and its effectiveness procured provided its conveyance is in mother tongue.
Interim Aid- SOS Support to the Victim
In course of free legal advise and aid to large number of people, it is found that delay in availability of actual and realistic benefit out of the judicial process in real life for victim, the situation is rather deplorable and chances of victim to criminalisation, further exploitation increases, hence immediate, instant, life-saving support system is required like ICU patient in Hospital, Foundation provides minimum livelihood facilities of food, shelter and clothing, so victim get survived along with his human dignity till he or she experiences real justice. Say for example, a lady with a minor child who is thrown out of the family and absolutely in the miserable condition, having no other support or shelter requires support, which is provided by the Foundation by way of “Interim Aid- SOS Support to the Victim.”
Free Elementary Legal Education
Indian Constitution contemplates universal free and compulsory primary education as per the provisions of fundamental rights. The Foundation has expanded this ideal in its second principle as Free Elementary Legal Education. It makes attempts to ensure that as many as Citizens, Victims and beneficiaries of such rights and activists of human rights get well acquainted with and attain competent, universal and free of cost elementary information of various laws relevant to them. Ignorance of law deserves to be eliminated from the society by and large more especially when plea as to any kind of ignorance of law is neither being accepted nor excused by court of law.
co-operation for the common interest
Against the large diversified and complex varied requirements of different target groups in society, there is an acute shortage of financial and infrastructural means, lack of communication and co-ordination among different groups, ill-literacy and rigidness, geographical distances, so, the rigorous grass-root level integrated efforts are required to sub-serve the common good, as well as the rights of the individual. The partnership with local level NGOs and local social-workers is also essential. Thus, the principal of “co-operation for the common interest” is accepted preached and practiced by the foundation.
